Oklahoma Tornado Track Map 2023

OKLAHOMA TORNADOES OF 2023

Deadly Tornadoes Hit Oklahoma

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Reports

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has been tracking tornadoes for decades. Tornado tracks from April 19, 2023, show that several tornadoes touched down in Oklahoma during the late afternoon hours. The Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management (OEM) is providing situation updates on its website for the severe weather event.

The tornadoes caused significant damage and loss of life. According to the OEM, as of April 20, 2023, at least 10 people have been killed and dozens more injured. The tornadoes also caused widespread power outages and damage to homes and businesses. Rescue crews are working to locate and assist those affected by the storms.

The tornadoes were part of a larger storm system that moved across the central United States. The National Weather Service (NWS) issued numerous tornado warnings and watches as the storms approached Oklahoma. However, the tornadoes moved quickly and some residents had little time to seek shelter.

The NWS is continuing to monitor the situation and is urging residents to stay informed about the latest weather forecasts. The NWS also recommends that residents have a plan in place for what to do in the event of a tornado warning.
